Marzipan loaf cake recipe

A quick post to share the cake recipe from my last post. Every one who has had a piece has commented how lovely it is. It make a 'close' but very light cake with a delicious lingering flavour of almond and vanilla.

I didn't add the cardamon as I personally dislike it. The crust is delicious and I will certainly try the 'toasted' version - hope you enjoy it as much as we have ... Nigella Lawson (BBC Good Food) Marzipan Loaf Cake

I only have the 'before' photos, before Himself spotted it and despite being restrained .... ate most of it....

  1. I always make something sweet for my husband, the one who loves baked goods in this house. This looks like something he’d enjoy. I would add the cardamom for him. Thank you for sharing.

  2. The cake looks good enough to eat! Had to laugh at your cat’s antics in the last post. Why do we feel so guilty when the little monkeys don’t pay rent or do chores of any kind, well maybe the odd decaying mouse gets delivered which I then have to peel off the patio and discard. X

    1. The cat is 'beneath' bringing anything in .... so even that is discounted as 'rent'😁 we are certainly her staff and it is certainly her house!

  4. Thanks for sharing the recipe & too hot here for cakes at the moment with the humidity, but I'll keep it in mind for winter. Hugs.

  7. I am not a baker, but....this sure looks good. Spotted you on a mutual friends blog and thought I'd pop in for a visit. It's always fun to meet new bloggers.

  8. Just looked at the recipe and it is my type of recipe! Since we are both 'off' cake (more him than me) I'll not make it but will share the recipe with a friend whose husband loves marzipan. x
